Investigation Of Alleged Domestic Dispute Leads To Drug Charges
WARSAW — A Warsaw man is facing charges after an investigation of an alleged domestic dispute led to a drug arrest.
Joseph Khiev, 24, 1177 N. Slateview Court, Warsaw, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On Tuesday, Feb. 12, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic violence complaint. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female, who allegedly stated that Khiev was hurting her. Officers were advised that Khiev was in a bedroom at the residence. When they knocked on the bedroom door and spoke with Khiev, he was reported as being clearly agitated.
Officers used a key to open the bedroom door and observed Khiev sitting in a corner of the room. At that time, Khiev handed officers a piece of foil with burn marks on it. Officers obtained consent from Khiev to search the room and discovered a plastic bag containing a powdery substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Khiev was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail Feb. 12 on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
