Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
7:42 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, West US 30 and North SR 19, Etna Green. Drivers: Lorren C. Vanorder, 68, 53rd Street, Hamilton, Mich.; Wayne A. Wagoner, 45, Holly Street, Lima, Ohio. Police reported that both vehicles were eastbound on US 30, stopped at an automatic signal on SR 19. As both vehicles began to move forward, the vehicle driven by Vanorder struck the rear of the vehicle driven by Wagoner. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
6:42 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, East Winona Avenue and North Bay Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Darlene M. Gould, 64, 15th Street, Winona Lake. Gould told police she was driving her vehicle westbound on East Winona Avenue when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
2:41 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, East Center Street and North Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert D. Ott, 69, Cromwell; Kayla A. Wentz, 18, Opel Road, Glen Burnie, Md. Ott told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on East Center Street and changed lanes, causing his vehicle to strike the vehicle driven by Wentz. Damage up to $2,500.
12:43 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Timothy E. Steinmeyer, 62, South CR 450W, Silver Lake; Matthew J. Linville, 38, Syracuse-Webster Road, Syracuse. Both drivers were backing out of parking spaces in the McAlister’s Deli parking lot with the two vehicles collided. Damage up to $2,500.
10:28 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, Mariners Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Timothy D. Baker, 59, East Walnut Street, Warsaw. Baker told police he was driving his vehicle in the Parkview parking lot and did not see a pedestrian, Cherie L. McKinzie, 61, East US 30, Pierceton. As Baker turned into a parking spot, his vehicle struck McKinzie, who suffered leg injuries and was taken inside the hospital for treatment. Damage less than $750.
