Warsaw Woman Arrested On Drug Charges After Traffic Stop
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman faces multiple drug charges after police made a traffic stop involving a loud vehicle exhaust, learned she had an active warrant, and searched her person.
Nyoka Joann Sexton, 26, 3529 West CR 100S, No. 22, Warsaw, is charged with dealing in a narcotic drug, a level 4 felony; possession of a narcotic drug, a level 6 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; and possession of cocaine, a level 6 felony.
According to a report from the Warsaw Police Department, officers observed a red PT Cruiser with loud exhaust in the area of Winona Avenue and Scott Street in Warsaw on Feb. 13. When police executed a traffic stop, they identified Sexton as the front seat passenger and learned she had an active warrant for failure to appear.
Police took Sexton into custody, but while searching her person, reported finding quantities of heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine. The officers reported that the heroin was packaged in such as a way as to be prepared for distribution.
Police also reported finding $875 in cash in Sexton’s purse but reported that Sexton denied knowing who the money belonged to.
