Dogs Rescued From Korean Puppy Mills Find New Lives In Michiana
SOUTH BEND — Hundreds of dogs rescued from a South Korea puppy mill are finding new life here in the U.S. – a few of them, right here in Michiana.
The precious pups were headed to a horrible fate until Humane Society International stepped in, saving nearly 200 dogs in South Korea from a dog meat farm.
Michiana’s pet refuge has four of them.
“Just the thought that not only are they basically [in] a puppy mill situation but they are in a meat market situation, it’s really something we’d like to see change in the culture,” Nancy Whiteman said.
Pet Refuge says the soonest the puppies can be adopted is two weeks from Wednesday, but that can be pushed back if the dogs show any signs of health problems.
