Edward E. Alvey
Edward E. “Ed” Alvey, 70, Leesburg, passed away at 3:34 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born on May 6, 1948, in Muncie, to Emerson and Alberta L. “Lucille” (Buis) Alvey.
He lived most of his life in the Muncie and North Webster area and graduated in 1966 from North Webster High School. He was married on Aug. 31, 1986, in North Webster, to Mary Beth (Roeger) Locke who survives. He retired in 2015 as a machine operator at R.R. Donnelly in Warsaw after 47 years.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star #88 both in Warsaw and he was affiliated with the North Webster Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Alvey, Leesburg; two sons: Darren Alvey, Michigan; and Jason (Staci) Locke, Leesburg; daughter, Sarah (Quinn) Wegener, Syracuse; two grandchildren: Cayden and Aundreya Wegener; two sisters: Carla Alvey, Fort Wayne; Kinsey (Dan) Vandiver, Syracuse; three half-brothers: Orin “Butch” Franklin; Keith Alvey, Texas; and Emerson Alvey Jr., Kentucky; half-sister, Judy Mahone, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Sean Alvey, and granddaughter, Audrey Wegener.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. and an Order of Eastern Star service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home with Jason Locke officiating.
