Arlene Kitchel
Arlene Kitchel, 87, Rochester, passed away at 1:41 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Life Care Center, Rochester.
On June 7, 1931, Arlene Thompson was born in Cleveland, OH. She was a treasured daughter of Russell and Violet Kershar Thompson. Growing up she shared her childhood with three sisters.
In Cleveland, on Oct. 7, 1950, she and William J. Kitchel, Sr. were married. They enjoyed nearly four decades of life’s adventures. From their union came three wonderful children.
She retired from Blair Corporation, Pa., where she worked as a packer and quality control inspector. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword and word search puzzles. Moving to Indiana from Columbia, S.C., the Rochester community has been home for about 10 years. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Rochester.
Left to cherish her memory are a daughter: Roslyn Harp, Rochester; a son: John S. (Sherry) Kitchel, Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister: Naomi Honess, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband Bill, who preceded her in August 1990; a son: William J. Kitchel, Jr., who preceded her Sept. 25, 2018; and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1563 N. SR 25, Rochester.
