Troopers Directing Traffic Save Woman’s Life
LAKE COUNTY — Three Indiana State Troopers who happened to be in the right place at the right time Wednesday morning are being credited with saving the life of a Crown Point woman.
According to the Indiana State Police, Troopers Davonne Barlow, Rogelio Escutia, and Dennis Griffin were directing traffic at the scene of a semi crash on I-65 near Crown Point. While working that crash an SUV pulled over and the driver ran up to the Troopers. The driver told the Troopers that a 30-year-old woman had passed out in the vehicle and that he needed help.
The Troopers went to the vehicle and found the woman slumped over and unresponsive, the press release stated. They began CPR and used an AED. The Troopers continued CPR until an EMS arrived.
The woman was take to the hospital where she is now talking and responsive.
The AED used by the trooper was supplied by Bolt for the Heart which raises money to place automatic external defibrillators in all law enforcement vehicle.
