Freddie D. Meade
Freddie D. Meade, 68, Mentone, passed away at 9:40 p.m., Feb. 9, 2019, in Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was born on Sept. 28, 1950, in Logan, W. Va., to Carlos and Myrtle (Maynard) Meade.
He lived most of his life in Silver Lake. On March 26, 1982, he was united in marriage to Martha Meade in Sunbury, Ohio; she preceded Freddie in death on Feb. 12, 2017. During his life he worked for A.O. Smith Harvestore in New Paris, and retired after 32 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, and working on cars and lawn mowers. He loved playing bingo; especially at the Lion’s Club in Silver Lake.
He is survived by his sisters; Edna Crist of Mentone and Brooke Williamson of Warsaw; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife; Martha, a son; Leo Edward Pruitt Jr., on Jan. 12, 2019, his parents; Carlos and Myrtle, sisters; Mary, Bernice, Joanne, brothers; Donald, Curtis, and Albert also preceded Freddie in death.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 1 p.m., in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor Terry Bradford will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, Indiana.
