Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
7:44 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, North Turkey Creek Road and East Wawasee Lane, Syracuse. Driver: Laurana K. Perry, 18, East Excalibur Place, Cromwell. Perry told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on Turkey Creek Road when she said she lost control of her vehicle on the slick road surface, causing it to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.
4:53 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, East Armstrong Road, north of North CR 200E, Leesburg. Drivers: Drew T. Brewton, 31, South SR 13, Pierceton; Richard A. Wright, 56, North CR 650E, Warsaw. Brewton told police he was driving his vehicle southbound on CR 200E when he said he lost control of his vehicle on the slick road surface, causing it to slide into an intersection and collide with the vehicle driven by Wright. Wright complained of shoulder pain but declined medical treatment. Damage up to $25,000.
4:41 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, East CR 550N, east of North CR 200E, Leesburg. Driver: Frank J. Stoffel, 65, North CR 500E, Syracuse. Stoffel told police he was driving his vehicle eastbound on CR 550N, when he said he lost control of his vehicle on the slick road surface, causing it to leave the roadway and strike a pole. Damage up to $25,000.
11:58 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, South SR 15, north of West CR 550S, Claypool. Driver: Jason E. Pearson, 27, West Stone’s Crossing Road, Greenwood. Pearson told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 15 when he fell asleep at the wheel, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway on a curve, strike a ditch, proceed airborne into a field before coming to rest. Pearson told police he was not injured but asked that his pregnant passenger be checked out. Katherine Hines, 22, Bayview Lane, Warsaw, declined medical treatment. Damage up to $10,000.
6:43 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, North SR 13, north of East CR 150N, Warsaw. Driver: Roxanna M. Ousley, 68, East CR 200N, Pierceton. Ousley told police she was driving her vehicle northbound on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. She told police she was unable to avoid hitting the deer with her vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
