Wilma Jean Troyer
Wilma Jean (Hammond) Troyer, 73, Lincoln Street, Argos, died at 9:08 a.m., Feb. 6, 2019, at her residence where she had been in declining health the past several months.
On June 17, 1945, in Alger, Ohio she was born to Herbert and Hazel B. (Craft) Hammond and had lived most of her adult life in the Argos community.
On May 15, 1965, in Grovertown, she married John William Troyer and together they would have shared 55 years this May. She was a housewife and homemaker.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Argos, and was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1963. She loved to watch Jeopardy, crafts, painting, and scrapbooking. She enjoyed singing at church and traveling to visit family in Kentucky for reunions. Wilma’s babysitting gained her many “extra children:” Mason, Mitchell, Morgan, Maggie, Alaura, Kendell, Gaby, Cynthia, and Jesselyn.
She is survived by her husband; daughters: Tanya Love Heiman, Tamar Lynae Troyer, both of Argos; step-grandson, Zakery Heiman, Argos; brothers: Gerrel (Pat) Hammond, Etna Green; Michael (Tresa) Hammond, Plymouth; Chris (Kathy) Hammond, Akron; sisters: Mary Lois (William) Watson, Plymouth; Sherry Ann (Robert) Harrington, Argos; sister-in-law, Christine Hammond, Argos.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary Hammond, sisters: Thelma Hammond and Patty Geiselman.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8, at the Church of Jesus Christ; 15676 Michigan Road, Argos. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Church of Jesus Christ; 15676 Michigan Road, Argos, with Rev. Lloyd Howard of the Church of Jesus Christ. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
