NORTHWOOD 9TH GRADE BOYS 32, GOSHEN 21
A hot start for NorthWood helped the Panthers to the freshman victory Thursday night to begin the Northern Lakes Conference tournament. NorthWood jumped out to an 11-2 lead to get past the RedHawks. Caden Graham led the Panthers with 10 points while Brady Hunsberger added nine points and four rebounds. Ike Roberts had seven points and Jaxon Miller chipped in four rebounds in the win.
WAWASEE 9TH GRADE BOYS 33, PLYMOUTH 30
Mason Possell was the hero for the Warriors Thursday night, hitting a three from the corner as time expired to lift Wawasee to the victory. Possell hadn’t scored since the first quarter before hitting the game winner, finishing with eight points. Landon Gause led the Warriors with 11 points.
WARSAW 9TH GRADE BOYS 51, ELKHART MEMORIAL 26
Power outages in downtown Warsaw might have curtailed the lights at the Tiger Den, but it didn’t slow down Warsaw’s offense once it found a place to play the Chargers Thursday. The game was moved across town to Harrison Elementary, and Warsaw continued to score in bunches in the NLC tourney opener for both clubs. Jeremy Ryman led the Tigers with 11 points while the trio of Judah Simfukwe, Kyle Dawson and Hunter Rice all finished with eight points.
LCA JR. HIGH GIRLS 37, MANCHESTER 16
LCA defended its home court Thursday, taking it to the Squires. A 10-0 spurt in the first quarter ballooned to a 19-3 lead at the half. Maddie Silveus paced the Cougars with 12 points and Finley Hobbs was just behind with 10 points. Olivia Neal paced the visitors with 11 points.
MANCHESTER 7TH GRADE GIRLS 31, LCA ‘B’ 24
Manchester used a 14-2 run in the third quarter to get past the hosts. Gracie Lauer and Leyna Borgmann each scored 10 points and the two combined for 12 rebounds. LCA did not report its scorers.
LAKEVIEW 7TH GRADE GIRLS 45, MILFORD 8
Lakeview (9-1) had good balance on the offensive end, with eight players scoring in the win. Jael Namfukwe led the Tigers with 10 points, Amelia Alexander continued the ladder with nine points, Joey Rastrelli with eight points and Abigail Davis with seven points.
