Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
4:33 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, South SR 15, south of West CR 600S, Claypool. Drivers: Jason F. Dorsett, 38, East Center Street, Warsaw; Katie M. Schrock, 31, East Debail Avenue, South Bend. Dorsett told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 15 when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to fishtail and travel into the southbound lane, where it struck the front of Schrock’s vehicle with the rear of Dorsett’s vehicle. Dorsett told police he was not injured. Schrock complained of neck pain and her passengers, Christopher J. Thompson, 51, Caroline Street, South Bend and Eric D. McLane, 45, Sorin Street, Niles, Mich., both also complained of pain. All three were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
3:47 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 1209 E. Smith St., Warsaw. Driver: Joyce E. Griffith, 87, Grace Village Drive 273, Winona Lake. Griffith was backing her vehicle when she struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:
6:54 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, South Country Club Road, north of East Winona Beach Drive, Warsaw. Driver; Timothy L. Riley, 48, East SR 14, Claypool. Riley was traveling south on Country Club Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
9:13 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, Lexington Drive, south of South CR 250E, Winona Lake. Driver: Justin L. Thompson, 34, West CR 250S 103, Warsaw. Thompson was traveling north on CR 250E when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
