MARION – Grace’s track and field team had its last regular season meet of the indoor season on Saturday with the IWU Invitational.
On the men’s side, Kyle Smith took third in the 600-meter race, and his brother Luke Smith finished seventh in the 800 in 2:02.12.
Dylan Felger had a time of 50.87 in the 400 to place fourth, and he teamed up with Paul Brawner, Brendan Hamilton and Kyle Smith to grab third in the 4×400 at 2:28.58.
Brawner had a season-best 23.14 in the 200, Walker Hobbs was eighth in the shot put (45-feet-6.5), and William Shafer was ninth in the weight throw (48-10.25).
For the women, Nordia Campbell finished sixth in both the 60 dash (8.06) and the 200 (26.74).
Kaitlyn Mack placed seventh in the 600 at 1:45.50, and Carmen Trier ran a 2:33.99 in the 800 during her first indoor meet of her collegiate career.
“This was the largest meet we’ve been to this year, and we handled it pretty well with several season bests,” said Grace head coach Jeff Raymond. “We also produced some marks that help position us for seeding in the league championships next week.”
The Lancers will start postseason competition next week, starting with the Crossroads League Championships at Taylor on Friday and Saturday.
