North Webster Community Public Library Celebrates Take Your Child To The Library Day
NORTH WEBSTER — If you’ve ever wanted to visit Israel, you can take an armchair tour through the Holy Land at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at North Webster Community Public Library when Amy and Brandon Dennis present their trip to Israel.
Through photographs and narrative, they will share the places they visited and the sights they saw that made the Bible come alive for them. The program is free and open to the public.
Earlier in the day at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, knitters and crocheters will gather for another Knit 1 Crochet 2 session. This monthly group meets the first Tuesday of each month to work on their yarn projects. Beginners as well as experienced knitters and crocheters are welcome.
Other adult activities next week include an adult coloring session at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, and Let’s Move, a free dance exercise class, at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7.
The Youth Department will celebrate the eighth annual Take Your Child To The Library Day Saturday, Feb. 2, with special activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parents and grandparents are invited to spend time with their children exploring all the resources available at the library. There will be a Family Story Time at noon along with crafts, a photo booth, free stickers and activity sheets, book trivia contests and balloon animals throughout the day, as well as book prizes given away each hour. Take Your Child To The Library Day is an international celebration of the importance of libraries in the lives and education of children.
The winter sessions of Preschool Story Time and Lapsit Story Time are starting soon. Preschool Story Time will be held at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday from Feb. 6 through April 10 for children ages 3 to 6. For infants and toddlers, Lapsit Story Time will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays from Feb. 5 through April 26.
