Tappy The Penguin Eager To Greet Boys, Girls Who Visit Children’s Dept.
MILFORD — The Milford Public Library has announced its latest weekly schedule.
Adult Reading Club Drawing
Adults 18 and older can win prizes just by reading and filling out a bingo sheet. Each square on the bingo card has a suggestion for what to read, like, “read a book because you like the cover,” or “read a book that was turned into a movie.” For each bingo on the card, a participant can enter their name into a weekly drawing for a prize. No library card is needed, but interested patrons can sign up at the adult circulation desk. The Adult Reading Program will continue until March 30, 2019.
Pay Fines To Continue Checking Out Library Material
The library is urging patrons to pay fines accrued during 2018 or earlier, so they will be able to check items out this year. For patrons who are unable to pay a large fine in one payment, a plan can be created that suits their needs.
Story Time Starts In One Week
Story Time sessions for children ages three to six years old returns next week on Feb. 6. Story Time prepares children for preschool and enables them to develop interpersonal, language, and literacy skills. Children will create crafts, listen to stories and enjoy a snack.
Winter sessions begin Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 10:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 7 p.m. Themes include keeping warm outside, keeping warm inside/Valentine’s Day, Eskimos, penguins and polar bears, winter sports and author, Mo Willems. No library card is needed. Please sign up at the children’s circulation desk.
Check Out Libby
For patrons who have not yet tried the library’s latest app, Libby is developed by OverDrive and can help users check out, with their library card, different items such as ebooks, magazines, audiobooks, and videos. Libby offers the same materials available on OverDrive. However, with Libby, participants can be signed into multiple cards at one time. Libby now has new magazines.
Milford Public Library staff members are always available to help patrons learn how to use Libby or OverDrive. Set up an appointment by calling (574) 658-4312.
