Nappanee Library Announces Weekly Events
NAPPANEE — The Nappanee Public Library has announced its list of activities for the upcoming week.
Rock Band — Feb. 5, 4 to 5 p.m. (teens)
Patrons can add their personal signature to every performance with a sound track featuring some of the world’s best hits. No registration is necessary.
Alzheimer’s And Dementia Caregiver Support Group — Feb. 5, 6 to 8:30 p.m. (adults)
Group members meet together for information, sharing, and support with others who are caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. No registration is necessary.
Wiggle Giggle — Feb. 6, 10 to 10:30 a.m. (toddlers and pre-K)
Designed to keep little ones continuously moving, this group has participants singing along and dancing around the library to popular Disney Songs.
Tween Thursday — Feb. 7, 4 to 5 p.m. (tweens)
Interested patrons can come to The Cube to make unique, fun Valentine’s Day cards to share with loved ones during the holidays. All materials and snacks will be provided. Registration is requested, but not required. Call (574) 773-7919 or visit nappaneelibrary.org to register.
The Young And Restless — Feb. 8, 10 to 10:30 a.m. (infants and toddlers)
Interested patrons can join the library for a story time created for babies, toddlers, and caregivers. There will be bubbles, dancing, music, and stories. The only requirement is to have fun. Feel free to bring a blanket or play mat. Register by calling (574) 773-7919 or visit nappaneelibrary.org.
DIY Dog Toys — Feb. 9, 9:30 to 11 a.m. (all ages)
Interested patrons can stop by The Cube to make a handmade dog toy out of recycled T-shirts. All donations will be sent to the Elkhart County Humane Society. No registration is necessary.
For The Love Of Dogs Readathon — Feb. 9, 15-minute sessions, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (all ages)
Interested patrons can come to the library and paws to read to a licensed therapy dog. Individuals or families (maximum of five people) can register for a free 15-minute session. Register by calling (574) 773-7919.
Recipe Swap — Feb. 11, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (adults)
Interested patrons can exchange favorite recipes and collect some new favorites. Each month has a theme. In February, participants are urged to bring a dish made with chocolate, or to try other dishes and return home with a stack of new recipes. No registration is necessary.
Southern Care Hospice — Feb. 11, 2 to 4 p.m. (adults)
Participants will discuss Advanced Directives and why they would need them, presented by Southern Care Hospice. No registration is necessary.
Game Night — Feb. 11, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (teens and adults)
Local resident, Dan Slaven will be hosting Game Night at NPL, bi-weekly. Participants can bring their own game or try a new one. There will be a featured game each month, such as Sushi Go, Mysterium, and Boss Monster. No registration is necessary.
