Jerry L. Busenburg
Jerry L. Busenburg, 78, of Huntington and formerly of rural Mentone, passed away at 10:05 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 at Millers Merry Manor of Huntington.
Busenburg was born Dec. 13, 1940, in Mentone to Everett and Dorothy (Mehnke) Busenburg. He was married Sept. 22, 2007, in Huntington, to Geraldine Dolby, who survives.
He worked for Monarch Enterprises of Syracuse and Middlebury, then he drove for Coachmen of Middlebury, and lastly for Warsaw Black Oxide of Burket.
He was a graduate of Talma High School in 1959 and was a member of Riverview Community Church in Tippecanoe. Busenburg drove the road since 1969, traveling to every state, as well as Canada. He collected International and Farmall toy tractors and attended farm and tractor shows. He was fond of the Chicago Cubs and liked attending car shows. He always enjoyed farming and camping.
He is survived by his wife: Geraldine Busenburg, Huntington; daughters: Sherri (Randy) Reneker, Warsaw and Pam (Allen) Sellers, Etna Green; stepsons: Delbert (Deb) Burton, Jr., Auburn and Rick (Audrea) Burton, Columbus, Ohio; Stepdaughters: Anita Runion, Huntington and Deanna (Eric Cole) Burton, Woodstock, Ga.; grandchildren: Travis (Megan) Reneker, Tyler (Tori) Reneker, Trisha (Darin) Lursen, Andrew (Ashley) Sellers and Courtney Sellers; great-grandchildren: Zackary, Jordan, Elijah, Asher and Peyton; 11 stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren and brother: David (Sheila) Busenburg, Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Dorothy (Mehnke) Busenburg.
Services will be held at noon on Monday, Feb. 4 at King Memorial Home, 101 North Tucker St., Mentone with Pastor Rodney Ruberg officiating. Interment will be held at Sycamore Cemetery, Mentone. Visitation hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday at the funeral home.
