Philip L. Rapsavage
Philip L. Rapsavage, a longtime resident of Warsaw, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, in Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was 94 years old at the time of his death.
Born on Sept. 21, 1924, he was the son of Edward and Iva Loreana (Friend) Rapsavage. He was born in Detroit, Mich. but spent much of his youth in Litchfield, Ill. It was there where he met Eleanor Baga to whom he would be married on Sept. 23, 1950, in Warsaw’s Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Eleanor preceded Philip in passing on March 22, 2018, after more than 68 years together.
He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion, VFW and Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing board games and card games, especially Euchre. He attended First Christian Church, Warsaw when he could and was very social, never knowing a stranger. Professionally, he had been a car salesman, working for Munson Chevrolet, Petro Brothers and others in addition to owning Spartan Automotive.
Those who survive include son, Roger Rapsavage (fiancée, Darlene Burkel) of Warsaw; son, Bob Daughterty (Barb) of Morgantown, Ky.; grandson, Ryan Rapsavage (Lindsay) of Warsaw; great-grandson, Raiden Rapsavage at home; brother, Wayne Rapsavage of Warsaw and sister, Deanna Gregory of Logansport. Those who preceded Philip Rapsavage in death include his wife, Eleanor Rapsavage; daughter, Suzy Rapsavage; great-granddaughter, Lainey Kay Rapsavage; sister Joyce Rosella Leek and his parents.
Calling will be held at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 27. A graveside service will be held later in the week in Calvary Cemetery, Pana Ill.
