Kosciusko
Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
5:01 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, North SR 15, north of west CR 800N, Leesburg. Driver: Braxton K. Minix, 20, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Minix told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 15 when his vehicle hit a patch of slush, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned onto the driver’s side. Damage up to $5,000.
12:05 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, South SR 25, south of Wes CR 100S, Warsaw. Driver: Ashley L. Moles, 33, St. Augustines Drive, Warsaw. Moles told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on SR 25 when she lost control of the vehicle on a slick road surface, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole guide wire. Damage up to $2,500.
8:16 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, west Lake Street, west of North Zimmer Road, Warsaw. Driver: Taylor D. Sleeth, 21, South Nellie Boulevard, Claypool. Sleeth told police she was driving her vehicle westbound on Lake Street when she lost control of her vehicle in a roundabout, causing it to leave the roadway and strike both a curb and a road sign. Damage up to $5,000.
2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, East CR 1000N, east of North Syracuse-Webster Road. Driver: Bennett L. Hoffert, 18, EMS B38 Lane, Leesburg. Hoffert told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on CR 1000N when his vehicle hit a snow drift, following by a patch of clear ice. He told police that he lost control of the vehicle and that the vehicle slid backwards into a utility pole, owned by REMC. Damage up to $25,000.
1:19 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, Fox Farm Road, west of North CR 200W, Warsaw. Driver: Stephanie D. Hershberger, 45, East Wildwood Drive, Warsaw. Police said Hershberger was driving her vehicle westbound on Fox Farm Road when her vehicle hit a slick spot in the roadway. Hershberger told police her vehicle began to slide and that she lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and collided with a utility pole severing the pole in half. Hershberger’s vehicle ended up on its side. Hershberger complained of shoulder and arm pain and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
6:42 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, SR 15 and East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Anthony D. King, 52, South Country Club Road, Warsaw; Patrick D. Landrigan, 57, East CR 700S, Pierceton. King told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on South Detroit Street when he approached an intersection where the light was red. He said he applied brake, but that his vehicle slid on the slick road surface and collided with the rear of Landrigan’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
