North Webster Community Public Library Hosts Story Time For Children
NORTH WEBSTER — The North Webster Community Public Library will host the following events in January:
Building early literacy skills in young children helps prepare them for successful learning when they enter school. That’s why North Webster Community Public Library offers Preschool Story Time and Lapsit Story Time for its youngest patrons and their parents. Registration for these two programs starts Jan. 23.
Geared to preschoolers ages three to six, the 10-week winter session of Preschool Story Time will be held every Wednesday from Feb. 6 through April 10. Two time periods are offered at 10:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. Each week the children have fun learning through books, storyboard, finger plays and crafts.
Lapsit Story Time is for infants and toddlers up to 36 months old and is held at 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays from Feb. 5 through April 26. Along with their parents or caregivers, the little ones explore board books with brief stories, sing songs with hand motion and engage in meaningful play. Both programs provide resources and networking opportunities for parents as well as socialization for the children. To register, visit the Youth Services Desk, call (574) 834-7122 ext. 22 or e-mail [email protected].
On the Adult Services side, Writer’s Corner meets at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, to share and discuss the compositions each participant has written about a wild social media encounter. Then at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, Revolving Recipe Round-Up gets together to share and sample homemade soups that each one has prepared. The library provides the table service and coffee.
A library card is not needed to attend any of the programs, classes or events at North Webster Library or use the public computers. They are available to the public with or without a card. To borrow materials, however, an Evergreen card from any Evergreen library in the state is required.
