WARSAW BOYS 64, CONCORD 25
Warsaw remained unbeaten in Northern Lakes Conference play with a dominant win over visiting Concord at the Tiger Den Friday.
Wyatt Amiss scored 12 points and grabbed four rebounds, Nolan Groninger tallied 10 points while passing out six assists, Tyler Metzinger added 10 points, Luke Adamiec filled up the stat sheet with six points, nine rebounds and seven assists, and Jaylen Coon chipped in nine points and four rebounds. The Tigers scored at a better-than-54-percent clip from the floor, including 61 percent shooting in the first half as they built toward a 35-10 halftime cushion.
Michael Johnson and Drew McDougle scored eight points apiece to lead Concord (2-10, 1-3 NLC), which was held to 20.5 percent shooting by its hosts.
Warsaw’s JV also won, 51-48. Brock Poe finished with 16 points and four assists, and Bishop Walters scored 11 for the JV Tigers.
The Tigers (9-4, 4-0 NLC) will not play at Fort Wayne Snider due to forecasts, and that game will not be made up. They’ll be back in action at home opposite NorthWood next Friday.
SOUTHWOOD BOYS 83, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 82 (OT)
Tippecanoe Valley suffered its first Three Rivers Conference loss of the season in an overtime heartbreaker at home in Akron Friday night.
Parkur Dalrymple led a quintet of Vikings in double figures with 21 points, followed by Tanner Trippiedi with 17, Jace Potter with 13, Jalen Shepherd with 12, and finally Cameron Parker with 11. Dalrymple also dished out five assists, and Shepherd and Trippiedi pulled down nine and eight rebounds, respectively.
Valley used a 21-10 third period to get out front, 53-46, but was tied at 80-all at the end of regulation.
Southwood (4-9, 2-3 TRC) got a game-high 27 points and 11 rebounds from Holmes, while Rich and Simmons each scored 19, and Barney finished with 10 points.
The Vikings (7-6, 4-1 TRC) will travel to Manchester next Friday night.
PLYMOUTH BOYS 56, WAWASEE 47
The Warriors slipped to 0-4 in the Northern Lakes Conference with a loss to visiting Plymouth Friday.
Ben Hoffert knocked down four 3-pointers on his way to a team-high 16 points, but he needed 11 attempts from beyond the arc to get there. Kameron Salazar put up nine points with two assists, and Austin Miller scored eight points with another two assists for Wawasee.
Clay Hilliard scored a game-high 21 points to lead three Plymouth players in double figures. Cole Filson scored 14, and Jake Reichard finished with 12 points for the Pilgrims (12-3, 4-0 NLC), who scored at a 50 percent clip in the win.
Wawasee’s JV won, 39-34.
The Warriors (3-10, 0-4 NLC) travel to Bethany Christian Tuesday.
BREMEN BOYS 40, TRITON 38
Triton lost its Bi-County Tournament consolation game with Bremen by a narrow margin at LaVille High School Friday night.
Tye Orsund went off for 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting, but it wasn’t enough for the Trojans as Beau Hepler scored just six points, and Jared Bules and Keegan Westafer finished with just five points apiece as the next highest Triton scorers. The Trojans trailed 20-11 at halftime after scuffling to a 4-of-15 (26.7 percent) shooting mark in the first half.
Ryan Caldwell paced Bremen (7-6) with 11 points and four assists as the only Lion in double figures, but Bremen got slightly more balanced production in holding off Triton.
Triton (5-7) will look to bounce back at Elkhart Christian Tuesday.
CLINTON CHRISTIAN BOYS 61, LAKELAND CHRISTIAN 37
Lakeland Christian Academy lost its match-up at Clinton Christian Friday night.
The Cougars trailed by a still-manageable 15-11 margin at the first quarter break but Clinton outscored its guests 46-26 over the next three frames. Jake Harmon and Landon Twombly scored 11 points each to lead LCA. Harmon also finished with eight rebounds.
Seth Shetler paced Clinton Christian (10-4) with 18, followed by Alan Snyder with 12 and C.J. Mathis with 11.
Lakeland (5-11) plays at Lakewood Park next Thursday.
WARSAW JV GIRLS 46, CONCORD 14
Warsaw’s JV girls team routed Concord in NLC action Friday night.
Mackenzie Sokol scored 10 points with six rebounds, four assists and two steals in a strong all-around game for Warsaw. Cora West finished with eight points, eight rebounds and three steals, and Bailie Stephens scored eight points with five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Concord got seven points from Brianna Williams.
