Three Arrested After Attacking Another Teen
SYRACUSE — Two teens and one adult were arrested late Tuesday night, Jan. 8, after assaulting a Syracuse teen on East Chicago Street.
Tyler Logan Rex, 19, 702 E. Nokomis Drive, Syracuse; Adrian Crabb, 19, 160 EMS B43 Lane, Leesburg; and Tyler Dean Reith, 21, 612 Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw, were all booked on an initial charge of robbery. Their bond was $5,250 surety and cash each.
Syracuse Police were called to McClure’s after the 18-year-old victim ran to the business after being attacked. The victim told police he was walking west on Chicago Street from the Bayview Estates area. He said he noticed three individuals behind him and could hear them talking.
The victim stated one of the individuals grabbed his backpack, later identified as Crabb, inquiring what was inside. The victim was able to retrieve his backpack, but then was assaulted by Crabb, while Rex and Reith appeared to be keeping watch. The victim told police his assailant ripped the backpack from him and grabbed his wallet chain, pulling it off his paints. The assault took place on the street.
The victim was able to give a description of the assailant and accomplices. Rex and Reith were found on Front Street and detained by police.
After questioning Crabb was identified as the assailant.
Rex and Reith were arrested that evening, while Crabb was arrested at his residence the next day.
The victim had an iPhone 6, a black mobile backpack and wallet, valued at $766, taken in the assault.
Syracuse Police were assisted by officers with the Milford and North Webster police departments and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
