Dixie Lee Peoples
Dixie Lee Peoples, 63, Ligonier, passed away on Saturday Jan. 12, 2019, at home. She was born Sept. 30, 1955, to Alfred and Rose (Johnson) Lindsay in LaGrange. On April 28, 1973, she married Dennis Eugene Peoples at the Church of the Brethren in Ligonier.
She graduated from West Noble High School in 1973. She worked at Sroufe Manufacturing for 12 years and also as a bus aid for West Noble. She was devoted member of Cosperville Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher for 17 years. She was loved by many, and will be missed by all.
Mrs. Peoples is survived by her husband, Dennis of Ligonier; her children, Michael (Renee) Peoples of Ligonier; Janice Peoples of Ligonier; step-children: Beldan E. (Joyce) Peoples of Biloxi, Miss.; Rhonda Peoples of Ohio; Tonda DePue of Ohio; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her mother, Rose Lindsay of Ligonier; siblings, Edith “Sue” Lindsay, Richard Lindsay, Alfred Lindsay Jr., and Tom Lindsay all of Ligonier.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Lindsay Sr.; sister, Nondus J. Brown; and step-son, Marvin Peoples.
A memorial service will be held in Dixie’s honor held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at Cosperville Baptist Church, 8851 N 250 W, Wawaka, IN 46794. Pastor James La-follette will officiate.
A time of visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
