Mentone Library Announces Week’s Events
MENTONE — Bell Memorial Public Library has announced the following upcoming events:
Story Hour
The library hosts Story Hour every Friday at 10 a.m. Children listen to a story, sing songs and make a craft.
Lego Club
Lego Club is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 12 at 1 p.m.
Movie Monday
The library invites movies lovers to its doors at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, for an afternoon at the movies. The feature film will be “It Happened to Jane.” Popcorn and a beverage will be provided.
Teen Book Club
The library has announced the launch of its Teen Book Club. The first meeting will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The club will be reading “The Darkest Hour” by Alexandra Bracken. The club plans to meet on the third Tuesday of every month. There are sign-up sheets located throughout the library for use by interested patrons. The club is for teens ages 13 to 19 years.
Hoopla
Hoopla is a digital media service that allows patrons to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on their computer, tablet or phone. With no waiting, titles can be streamed immediately, or downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later. Titles cannot be downloaded to computers. Zumba And Yoga
Fitness enthusiasts can come to the library every Wednesday evening for Zumba and Yoga. Zumba begins at 5:30 p.m. and Yoga begins at 6:45 p.m. For more information, please contact Eva Mudd at (574) 253-5593 or [email protected].
Internet Hotspot
The library is circulating an internet hotspot. These devices are about the size of a large cell phone and connect the user to the Internet via cell phone towers. The library also boasts a large number of television series on DVD available for check-out, including “The Andy Griffith Show,” “Becker,” “Bewitched,” “The Big Bang Theory” and “Blue Bloods.”
