TIPPECANOE VALLEY 63, ROCHESTER 56
Valley outscored rival Rochester 14-7 in overtime to move to 4-0 in the Three Rivers Conference on the road Friday night.
Cam Parker put up 15 points on 4-of-8 floor shooting, Wes Melanson added 12, and Tanner Trippiedi put up 11 as the third Viking in double figures. Jalen Shepherd tallied a near double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds, and Jace Potter and Parkur Dalrymple both finished with eight apiece for Valley (7-6, 4-0 TRC).
Rochester also had three players in double figures. Brady Perez scored 15, Alex Ahnafeld put up 11, and Kalvary Lingenfelter scored 10 for the Zebras (5-7, 1-2 TRC), who lost their fourth straight.
Valley hosts Southwood next Friday night.
WARSAW 61, GOSHEN 39
Warsaw’s boys remained unbeaten in the Northern Lakes Conference with a dominant win at Goshen Friday night.
Goshen jumped out to a 10-2 lead and still led 19-11 before the Tigers surged to close the half up, 25-22. Warsaw rode that late second quarter momentum into the second half, where it outscored its hosts 36-17 on the way to the Tigers’ second straight win.
Nolan Groninger led in scoring with 16 points and passed out three assists, while Trevor Rumple added 13 points and three rebounds. Tyler Metzinger added 10 points while drawing the tough defensive assignment, and Jaylen Reese handed out four assists while scoring seven points for Warsaw, which converted 15-of-25 (60 percent) shots in the second half. The Tigers also capitalized on 15 Goshen turnovers with 22 points off turnovers while turning the ball over just eight times for the night.
Goshen was paced by Bryant Robinson’s 12 points, and Joseph Good, while Eric Newell scored nine points for the RedHawks (4-7, 0-3 NLC).
Warsaw (8-4, 3-0 NLC) travels to Fort Wayne to play Snider on Saturday night.
NORTHRIDGE 48, NORTHWOOD 45
Tied at 34 after three periods, the Panthers came up a little short in the fourth period of their back-and-forth game in Middlebury Friday night.
Trent Edwards scored 13 points with three assists, and Matt Dutkowski finished with 10 points, six rebounds and three steals for NorthWood. Brock Flickinger, Nick Bean and Ben Vincent each scored six for Wood at the game, which featured a total of six ties and 10 lead changes.
Jackson Erickson scored a game-high 18 for Northridge (6-6, 2-1 NLC), while Alex Stauffer finished with nine points, and Carter Stolzfus scored eight.
NorthWood (5-7, 1-2) will host Goshen next Friday night.
ELKHART MEMORIAL 50, WAWASEE 28
The Warriors scuffled to 10-of-37 (27 percent) shooting, including just 3-of-25 (12 percent) from 3-point range in a lopsided loss at Elkhart Memorial on Friday.
An 18-2 run put the Chargers out front for good, and three players finished in double figures for Memorial (9-3, 2-1 NLC). Darjon Lewis put up 12 points, and Jai-veon Qaiyim and Trey Gallope each scored 10 points with seven rebounds.
The Warriors (3-9, 0-3 NLC) got seven points each from Ben Hoffert and Aaron Evans, and Austin Miller and Michael Hammer each scored five.
Wawasee’s JV took Memorial to double overtime but fell 59-55.
The Warriors play Plymouth next Friday night in Syracuse.
LAKELAND CHRISTIAN JUNIOR HIGH BOYS 53, GRANGER CHRISTIAN 24
Seth Martin poured in 24 points, and the Cougars got a win over Granger Friday night. Jamie Wyatt scored nine, Ben Jackson added six points, and Will Hotchkin and Reid Andrew each contributed five points in the win for LCA.
Lakeland plays Tuesday against the Warsaw Bees.
LAKELAND CHRISTIAN JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS 39, GRANGER CHRISTIAN 12
Lakeland’s Finley Hobbs and Alexis Miller combined to score 15 points in the first quarter en route to the big win. Miller would wind up with 10 total points and Hobbs led the team with 12 points.
