Gerald E. “Jerry” Lent, 47, Nappanee, decided to go home at 8:50 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
He was born May 5, 1971 in Missouri to William and Gloria (Sida) Lent. He had lived in Nappanee since 1980. On July 3, 2010, he married Ashley Dean in Syracuse. He had worked for Monaco/Navistar in Wakarusa. He was an avid hunter, and he especially enjoyed turkey hunting. He was involved with the Eric Corey Foundation ALS “Turkey Tracks” out of Knox.
He enjoyed traveling with Ashley, and his favorite place to visit was Key West.
He is survived by his wife, Ashley Lent, Nappanee; children, Alicia Lent and Bradley Lent, both of Elkhart; Jessica and Cody Caudill, both of Nappanee; granddaughter, A’Maiah Washington, Elkhart; brothers, Robert “Bill” (Connie Hudson) Fullington, Warsaw, Joe (Joyce) Fullington, Bristol, Andrew “Andy” Lent, Nappanee; mother, Gloria Lent, Nappanee. He was preceded in death by his father, William Lent; and his Aunt Faye Buchek.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 13, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 14, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Etna Green Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Jerry Lent Memorial Fund to help with funeral expenses.
