Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
3:36 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, East CR 1000N, east of North Hasse Court, Syracuse. Driver: Benjamin C. Ponder, 34, EMS D7 Lane, Syracuse. Ponder’s vehicle swerved to avoid striking a deer that entered the roadway. The vehicle went off the road, striking several trees and toppling a pine tree in the yard of 3667 East CR 1000N. Damage up to $5,000.
10:57 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, East CR 500N, east of North CR 700E, North Webster. Drivers: Stanley R. Mikel, 66, North CR 375E, Syracuse; and Patricia A. Skinner, 68, East Shore Park Road, Leesburg. Mikel stated that visibility was poor due to snow. Mikel said a vehicle appeared to be stopped in the road in front of him and he was going to be unable to stop in time to avoid striking the vehicle. While attempting to go around the vehicle, Mikel’s vehicle struck Skinner’s vehicle which was traveling in the opposite direction. The vehicles collided head-on. Damage up to $50,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
10:22 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, South Huntington Street, south of West Railroad Avenue, Syracuse. Drivers: Brooke A. Warner, 27, Epworth Forest Road, North Webster; and Kim B. Kadas, 63, North American Way, Syracuse. Warner’s vehicle rear-ended Kadas’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
