LCA’s girls bounced back from a loss to Argos over the weekend with a convincing, 44-25 win over Cornerstone at home Tuesday.
Tori Calizo put up a near double-double of 16 points and nine rebounds with three steals, while Abigail Fishel continued her solid offensive production with nine points. Jessi Calizo notched eight points with five rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in a strong all-around game, and Anna Remink grabbed 11 steals while passing out six assists for the Cougars (11-8).
Savannah Yoder paced Cornerstone with eight points.
LCA is back in action opposite Granger Christian at home next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
LAKEVIEW 8TH GRADE BOYS 58, MILFORD 21
Lakeview’s eighth grade boys basketball team handed Milford a lopsided loss Tuesday.
All ten Tigers who saw action were able to score, led by Jaxson Gould’s 22 points, followed by Tucker Curtis’ 12. Will Bergen scored eight, and Levi Perry and German Flores each chipped in three for Lakeview.
Milford was led by Jared Beer’s six points, while Ryden Manning scored five, and Ruben Vela finished with four.
TRITON 8TH GRADE BOYS 32, BREMEN 18
Triton’s eighth grade boys beat neighboring Bremen Tuesday.
Chandler Westafer finished with 11 points, and Cameron Shively scored nine for Triton, which saw seven players make the scoring column.
The eighth grade Trojans improve to 9-5 with the win. They’ll play in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Tournament-opener Thursday at LaVille.
LAKEVIEW 7TH GRADE BOYS 38, MILFORD 14
Lakeview’s seventh grade more than doubled up Milford in a win Tuesday. The Tigers were led by Isaiah Lara with 16 points and seven rebounds, and Layton Isbell added nine points.The Tigers improve to 14-4 on the season.
Aidan Monds and Darius Lewis led Milford in scoring with three points each. Milford plays East Noble on Monday.
TRITON 7TH GRADE BOYS 53, BREMEN 24
Triton’s seventh grade held Bremen scoreless during an 11-0 second period to take a 26-9 lead into halftime and never looked back in a dominant win Tuesday.
Anthony Schuh poured in 19 points, and Cole Shively scored 16 in a strong one-two for the Trojans. Jacob Pitney put up six, and both Hunter Schaetzle and Javan May scored five apiece for Triton, which moved to 9-5.
The Trojans play in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Tournament-opener at LaVille Thursday.
SUMMIT 8TH GRADE GIRLS 40, LAKEVIEW 31
Lakeview’s eighth grade girls basketball team lost to Summit Tuesday.
Scoring for the Lady Tigers was well-rounded with Rylee Burns leading the way with nine points followed by Lauren Grose and Macy Perry with eight points each. Tessa Graney, Kenzie Adkins and Macy Wayne added two points apiece.
The Lady Tigers’ first home game will be Thursday versus the Southwood seventh grade at 5 p.m.
SUMMIT 7TH GRADE GIRLS 33, LAKEVIEW 27
Lakeview’s seventh grade girls lost their season-opener with Summit Middle School Tuesday.
Abigail Davis paced all scorers with 10 points, while Joey Rastrelli followed with nine. Also scoring for the Lady Tigers were Jael Namfukwe with six points and Addison Mehlberg with two.
The Tigers host Southwood in their home-opener this Thursday at 5 p.m.
