Officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
7:56 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, North SR 13, south of East CR 150N, Pierceton. Driver: Sean C. O’Connor, 47, Denzil Drive, Columbia City. O’Connor told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
1:27 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, East CR 900N, south of North CR 850E, North Webster. Tonya S. Day, 41, Holiday Lane, Cromwell, told police she was in a vehicle driven by Brian N. Taylor, EMS W30 Lane, North Webster when a collision caused her injury. She was driven by a third party to Goshen Hospital for treatment. Police said the vehicle was traveling southbound on CR 850E when it left the east side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, breaking it in half. Taylor has not been located by police, according to the report. Damage up to $10,000.
11:56 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, East US 30, west of South CR 325E, Warsaw. Driver: Desiree M. Martin, 17, Klopfenstein Road, Leo. Martin told police she was driving her vehicle eastbound on US 30 when she attempted to answer her phone and lost control of her vehicle as it left the roadway, hit an embankment and rolled over on its top. Martin suffered injuries to her face and head as well as her hands and was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Damage up to $5,000.
7:39 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, North CR 1100W, north of West CR 650N, Bourbon. Driver: Andrew D. Parker, 17, North Main Street, Bourbon. Parker told police he was driving his vehicle northbound on CR 1100W and told police he was driving his vehicle at approximately 70 miles per hour when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway. The vehicle traveled through a field, spun around and collided with a house at 6698 North CR 1100W, Bourbon. The vehicle collided with the house traveling backward, causing Parker to to hit the house with the rear of his vehicle. The house sustained extensive damage to its foundation and interior. No one was injured in the accident. Damage up to $100,000.
12:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, North CR 150W, south of Executive Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Janice S. Miller, 55, West Main Street, Warsaw. Miller told police she was driving her vehicle southbound on CR 150W when another vehicle ran her off the road while passing her. Damage up to $2,500.
4:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, West CR 1250N, west of North Creek Bend Lane, Milford. Driver: Nathan P. Turner, 36, West 6th Street, Milford. Turner told police he was driving his vehicle westbound on CR 1250N when a deer entered the roadway. He told police he was unable to avoid hitting the deer with his vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
