Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
7:48 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, North CR 100E, south of East CR 250N, Warsaw. Driver: Anthony L. Green, 40, East Evergreen Drive, Warsaw. Green was traveling south on CR 100E when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
7:07 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, West CR 800S, west of South CR 100W, Claypool. Driver: Alex M. Martinez, 40, West CR 800S, Claypool. Martinez was traveling west on West CR 800S when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
6:54 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, East SR 14, east of South CR 100E, Silver Lake. Driver: Kevin S. Green, 56, Michigan Road, Argos. Green was traveling west on SR 14 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
9:44 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, South First Street, near East Catholic Street, Pierceton. Drivers: Alan R. McCrum, 46, South Washington Street, Pierceton; and Patricia A. Espinoza, 58, West Catholic Street, Pierceton. McCrum was traveling north on First Street behind Espinoza’s vehicle when Espinoza signaled she was going to make a left turn onto Catholic Street. McCrum did not notice this until the last second and rear-ended Espinoza’s vehicle. Espinoza complained of right hand pain after the accident occurred. Damage up to $25,000.
4:31 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, East Old Road 30, near South Brallier Road, Pierceton. Driver: Zachariah A. Corp, 27, West CR 275S 57, Larwill. Corp was traveling west on Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
10:14 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, East CR 850S, west of SR 13, Sydney. Driver: Kurtis E. Cripe, 17, West Wayne Street, Laketon. Cripe was traveling north on SR 13 when three deer entered the roadway. Cripe swerved to miss the deer, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
12:12 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, East CR 525N, south of North CR 300E, Warsaw. Driver: Jake A. Kaufman, 18, EMS D12 Lane, Syracuse. Kaufman was traveling south on CR 300E when his vehicle struck a large deer. Kaufman’s vehicle sustained major damage. The vehicle had to be towed away from the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2211 E. Center St., Warsaw. Drivers: John R. Schanbacher, 91, EMS C28G Lane, Warsaw; and Raymond C. Williams, 67, Walton Boulevard 312, Warsaw. Schanbacher was traveling east in a parking lot when he struck Williams’ vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
1:21 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 1202 Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Driver: Daniel J. Kreider, 34, Wooster Road 59, Winona Lake. Kreider was backing a vehicle out of a parking space when an unknown vehicle rear-ended the vehicle Kreider was in. The unknown vehicle left the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
