Mazie Head
Mazie Head, 72, a resident of Warsaw, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2018, just before 9 p.m. in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mazie, as everyone knew her, was born Rebecca Hively on Aug. 3, 1946, in Atwood. She was the daughter of Willard and Eva (Redinger) Hively. She attended local schools and, on Dec. 24, 1965, she was united in marriage to Terry Head in Livingston, Tenn.
She was a kind, hard working person. She functioned as secretary, office manager and book keeper for her family’s business, Terry’s Automotive, where she worked alongside her husband. She enjoyed BINGO and could often be found playing at the FOE or American Legion. She also enjoyed puzzles and being outside or tending to the yard. More than anything, she loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those who survive include her husband of 53 years, Terry Head; two sons: Jeff (Laurie) Head and Brian Head, all of Warsaw; five grandchildren: Ryan Head of Warsaw, Brandon Head of Indianapolis, Brooke (Steven) Schmerber, Austin Head and Cameron Head, all of Warsaw; and nine great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are brother Joe (Rosemary) Hively of Longview, Texas and sisters: Sheila Bays of South Whitley, Dixie (Melvin) Shaw and Lois Blanton, all of Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters: Sharon Roberts, Jane Rohr, Monabelle Terrell, Sue Jackson and Colleen Closson; and by two brothers: Clifford Hively and Richard Hively.
Friends may join family for a time of visitation from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan St., Warsaw. Beginning at noon, Pastor Glenn Hall of Harvest Community Church, Pierceton will officiate a celebration of her life. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
