Theresa Pauline Vojtasek
Theresa Pauline Vojtasek passed into the loving arms of our Lord on Dec. 19, 2018.
She was born on Dec. 12, 1930, in Gary. She was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of sixty-eight years and her loving parents, Nicholas and Eva (Dionne) Charais.
During her childhood, her parents moved to Chesterton, when Theresa was 3 years old until the age of 13, and then her parents moved their family of 10 children to Ladysmith, Wisc. On Sept. 9, 1948, Theresa Charais married Frank Vojtasek Sr. at Our Lady of Sorrows in Ladysmith, Wisc.
In 1952, Theresa and Frank moved their young family to Rochester, as Frank was transferred to become manager of a manufacturing plant for Safway Steel Products until his retirement in 1990. Theresa and Frank were devout members of St. Joseph Catholic Church, with a deep and fervent faith and love of the Lord. She was a past member of the Alter and Rosary Society.
An entrepreneur, Theresa was the owner and operator of Fluff and Puff Poodle Salon, and groomed dogs for many years. She had a multitude of interests. She enjoyed music and played the piano, was an avid reader and loved art, especially oil painting. She enjoyed gardening and nurturing her beautiful flowers. Her deep love for her family and friends was evident, and she had a unique gift for making each person feel truly special and loved. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and attending their numerous events.
Left to cherish Theresa’s memory are five children: son Nicholas Vojtasek, Logansport; Michael (Niki) Vojtasek, Rochester; daughter Dianne (Louis) Wood, Anderson; son Frank (Karen) Vojtasek Jr.; daughter Terri (Joe) Bowers, Rochester. She also had 11 grandchildren including Courtney Vojtasek, Alexandria, Virginia; Blake (Sarah) Vojtasek, Indianapolis; Aimee (Stuart) Prawatt, Indianapolis; Melinda Demos, Loveland, Ohio; Ted (Felisa) Demos, McCordsville; Olivia (Joe) Hilbert, Wallingford, Conn.; Ethan Vojtasek (companion Alisha), Rochester; Nick (fiancé Laura) Bowers, Indianapolis; Amy Bowers, Rochester; Mitchell (Brita) Bowers, Plymouth; Marc (Heather) Bowers, Mendon, Mich., and 10 great-grandchildren with another arriving in June, Georgia Vojtasek, Lillian, Chloe, and Natalie Prawatt, Jaxsen Demos, Cole Demos, Titus, Abel, and Myla Bowers, and Eli Hilbert. Surviving siblings include: Jack (Dease) Charais, Forest Lake, Minn.; Jim (Carolyn) Charais, Mesa, Ariz.; Mary Lou Kostka, Ladysmith, Wisc.; Patrick (Diane) Charais, Shoreview, Minn.; Carol (Robert) Sheeran, Spring Creek, Nv.. Her brother-in-law Bill Vojtasek, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Preceding Theresa in death are her loving husband Frank Vojtasek Sr. on Feb, 4, 2017, parents Nicholas and Eva Charais, and siblings Celina Verdegan, Mildred Van Der Loop, Robert “Bud” Charais, and Rita Lachowin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Theresa Pauline Vojtasek at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec, 29, 2018, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church 1310 Main St. Rochester. Fr. Michael McKinney will officiate. Theresa’s family will greet guests from 4 -7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, and on Saturday from 10-10:40 a.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home 1200 West 18th St. Rochester. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church 1310 Main St. Rochester, IN. 46975 or the Fulton County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
