Paul Eugene Stouder Jr.
Paul Eugene Stouder Jr., 84, Syracuse, passed away on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla. He was born on Aug. 8, 1934, in Goshen, to Paul Eugene and Gladys (Markham) Stouder Sr.
He lived most of his life in the Syracuse area, graduated from Indiana Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Children’s Home in Knightstown and attended Ball State University. He retired from Syracuse Rubber Co. after 25 years and formerly worked at the Old Bag Factory and the Proof Co. both in Goshen.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse & American Legion Riders in Millersburg. He was a former member of the V.F.W. Post 1342 in Syracuse and formerly attended the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse.
He is survived by his daughter, Pam Nickels, Syracuse; son, David Michael Stouder, Leesburg; five grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Timothy Stouder, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and great grandson, Jimmy Jones, great granddaughter, Tara Thornburg, and brother, Glen Stouder.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor David Henry officiating. Private burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
