Second Person Arrested In Theft From A Home
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Stephen Ault, 31, with addresses of 8601 E. Hatchery Road, Syracuse, and 2917 Schoolhouse Lane, Moraine, Ohio, was arrested Monday, Dec. 10, on a charge of theft. He is one of two people charged in theft of items from a residence where they were staying.
An accomplice in the theft, Krystal Kay Tennant, 30, with addresses in Syracuse and Fort Wayne, was arrested Nov. 13, and held on $10,000 surety and cash bond.
Ault was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail and held on $5,000 surety and cash bond.
Court documents state the female victim notified police Oct. 30, 2017, her childhood friend, Krystal Tennant and her boyfriend, Ault, were guests at her home from Oct. 24-27, 2017. During the time Tennant and Ault were at her home, they stole a Samsung Galaxy S7 cellphone, a Dell laptop computer, two Samsung tablets, two Polaroid tablets, Seiko watch, wedding bands, jewelry, vehicle battery, Xbox games and money. The items stolen were valued at more than $6,000.
Police learned Ault used his Ohio identification Oct. 25, to sell the jewelry to Cashland. Copies of the receipt and Ault’s identification were obtained and the victim identified the jewelry sold belonged to her.
Police also learned Tennant used her Indiana driver’s license Oct. 27 to sell the automobile battery at Omnisource, also identified by the victim as the one stolen from her residence.
