WARSAW — Via Credit Union awarded a grant to Robin Coffman, Lakeview Middle School, for a science class project.
Coffman plans to buy a small-sized incubator so her science students can study prokaryotic organisms such as bacteria.
Over the years, ViaCU has funded 81 projects totaling over $34,000 to area teachers.
President and CEO Dave Abernathy and Warsaw Branch Manager Tracy Speigle delivered checks and offered congratulations to grant recipients. The Teacher Grants fund innovative classroom projects for which no other funding is available.
“Via Credit Union is proud to fund these projects,” said Abernathy. “School budgets are extremely tight and the grants enable teachers to develop programs that would not exist without this financial help.”
