Lela Jeane Ballard
Lela Jeane Ballard, 88, Warsaw, passed away at 2:26 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw. She was born on July 20, 1930, in South Whitley, to John Winford and Ruth Alma (Hapner) Ballard.
She attended Columbia City High School and lived most of her life in South Whitley, Columbia City, Huntington, and Florida before moving to Warsaw in 2005. She was a homemaker and formerly employed at Columbia Products, Weatherhead Corporation, and Blumenthal’s Dept. Store all in Columbia City.
She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in South Whitley and American Legion Auxiliary in Columbia City.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Dillon, Warsaw; two sons: Phil Krider, Warsaw; Paul Krider, Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two half sisters, Kay McKinney and Vicki Taylor, both of South Whitley; a half brother, Dale Ballard, Columbia City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Larry Krider, and two brothers, Garland and Delbert Ballard.
No services will be held. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
