Lopez-Chinchilla Allegedly Stabs Former Girlfriend In Goshen
GOSHEN — Jorge Rodrigo Lopez-Chinchilla, 59, 108 W. Park Ave., Bourbon, is being held in the Elkhart County Correctional Facility after he allegedly stabbed his former girlfriend near the Boys and Girls Club, 301 Crescent St., Goshen. The assault occurred at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5.
Lopez-Chinchilla, who fled the area prior to police arrival, was located about a block away hiding in an empty house. He was arrested and initially charged with domestic battery, battery by a deadly weapon and residential entry, level 6 felonies; and criminal mischief. No bond has been set.
The victim, a 33-year-old female, was stabbed in the legs, chest, face and hands. She was taken to Goshen Hospital. Her injuries were thought not to be life-threatening.
Goshen Police investigated.
