Edward E. “Ed” Garrett, 69, Columbia City, passed away at 4:06 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He was born June 27, 1949, in Fairfield, Ill. to Mason “Tony” and A. Maxine (Robertson) Garrett.
He was a Columbia City, resident since 1990 and a former Warsaw resident. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1975. On Sept. 17, 1988, in Warsaw, he was united in marriage to Beverly Clements. He was formerly employed as Computer Programmer by R.R. Donnelley & Sons of Warsaw and Essex Group, Inc. of Fort Wayne. He was Purdue University graduate, 1981, with a BS in Computer Science. Furthermore, he was a Lifetime Member of the American Legion Post # 98, Columbia City.
Survivors include his wife, Bev Garrett of Columbia City; daughters: Stephanie (Jim) McDairmant of Warsaw; Jennifer (Justin) Smith of Fort Wayne; and grandchildren: Darby and Andon McDairmant, Olivia Kessler and Wyatt Smith. He was preceded by a sister, Pat Garrett.
Visitation hours are scheduled from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Interment will be private in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
