One Airlifted After Crash On 1300N
MILFORD — Mark D. Hubbs, 56, North Webster, was flown to a Fort Wayne Hospital after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening. Hubbs suffered severe bleeding to the head.
The accident occurred at 8:21 p.m. at CR 1300N and CR 300E, east of Milford.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Sarah E. Story, 34, Elkhart, was northbound on CR 300E, in a 2004 Ford F250. She stopped at the intersection, observed an eastbound vehicle turning south and proceeded to cross the intersection, when her truck was struck by Hubbs’ vehicle.
Police report Hubbs was eastbound in his 2016 Chevrolet Malibu and was passing the turning vehicle when Story’s vehicle entered the intersection. Police report after the impact, Story’s vehicle went into a field and hit a pole containing fiber optics.
Story complained of pain to the head. It is unknown if she was transported to an area hospital
Lutheran Air was called to transport Hubbs. The air ambulance landed at Wawasee Community Bible Church, west of the crash sight.
Damage has been estimated up to $50,000.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Milford Police, Milford Fire Department, Turkey Creek Fire Territory and Lutheran EMS responded.
