Maverik Lowe Could Be Going Home This Week
FULTON COUNTY — The Tippecanoe Valley Middle School student injured in a deadly school bus stop accident Tuesday, Oct. 30, could have the opportunity to go home as early as this week.
Maverik Lowe, 11, was flown to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, after being struck by a pickup truck while boarding a school bus. Six-year-old twin brothers Xzavier and Mason Ingle, and nine-year-old Alivia Stahl were killed in the crash.
Maverik Lowe has been in the hospital since the accident and was recently moved to rehab earlier this month. The family has rented a new home so that they don’t have to experience the trauma of living in the residence that the accident occurred at.
Maverik’s mother Joceynne Lowe recently posted on the Facebook page for his updates letting everyone know that Maverik’s strength is what gets her through this tough time.
“Because on Oct. 30 that my life was changed forever, when I got to my baby boy obviously I was a hot mess of the unknown with Bubby and he grabbed my arm with his little cold shivering hand that was so weak and said so big mom just be TOUGH. That was BIG to me because here laid my broken son that lost so much just trying to go to school. So I’ve held on to that day in and day out. My son’s strength is what gets me through every single day of every minute. He is the absolute strongest young man EVER. Tough times don’t last, tough people do.”
A GoFundMe for Lowe’s medical bills has been set up, with $65,600 raised so far.
