TIPPECANOE VALLEY 47, ARGOS 43
Tippecanoe Valley evened up its record with a late, come-from-behind win at home against Argos Tuesday night.
A 6-0 Argos run at the start of the fourth quarter put the Dragons in front, 39-32, but Tanner Trippiedi and Cam Parker hit some big 3s to give the Vikings back the lead. Good defense and free throws down the stretch secured Valley the win during a 15-10 fourth quarter.
Parker led his team with 20 points, and Jace Potter finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Valley (1-1) will host Knox Friday night.
LAKELAND CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 47, BETHANY CHRISTIAN 32
Lakeland Christian earned a program-first win over Bethany Christian Tuesday.
The Cougars held a tenuous 10-9 lead at the first quarter break, but a 19-7 second frame pushed the home team out to a 29-16 lead at the half on the way to the win.
Landon Twombly poured in a game-high 21 points with nine rebounds, while Jake Harmon finished with 13 points an five steals. Braxton Keller scored eight, and Trenton Parker finished with six rebounds for LCA (1-1), who beat Bethany for the first time in 14 tries.
Beck Williams and Evan Brown each scored 13 to lead Bethany (0-3).
LCA plays at Argos Friday.
PLYMOUTH 61, TRITON 28
Triton’s shooting went cold as the Trojans suffered a lopsided loss at Plymouth Tuesday.
Triton went 4 of 20 (20 percent) from 3-point range and just 8 of 33 (24.2 percent) from the floor in the loss. Beau Hepler scored seven, and Tye Orsund, Ashton Oviedo and Quentin Amsden each scored six in the loss. Orsund also secured a team-high five rebounds for Triton (1-1), which surrendered 19 turnovers for 27 points by the Pilgrims.
Jake Reichard put up 18 points with 10 rebounds, and Cole Filson scored 13 to lead the Pilgrims (3-0), who scored at a 22-for-49 (44.9 percent) clip from the floor in the win.
Triton’s JV also lost, 48-24.
Keegan Westafer screed a team-high 15 points with seven rebounds in that contest. Plymouth’s JV was paced by Brady Hissong’s game-high 18.
The Trojans play at NorthWood Friday.
LAKEVIEW 8TH GRADE 32, HUNTINGTON 17
Lakeview’s eighth grade boys beat Huntington Tuesday.
Jaxson Gould scored 17 points and handed out five assists to lead Lakeview. Will Bergen put up six points, and Alex Cook finished with three. Tucker Curtis and German Flores stood out on the defensive end as Lakeview held Huntington to just 17 points.
LAKEVIEW 7TH GRADE 27, RIVERVIEW 21
The Lakeview seventh grade boys defeated Riverview by a score of 27-21. The Tigers were lead by Isaiah Lara with 13 points, while Layton Isbell added seven points.
The Tigers improve to 7-1 on the season.
MILFORD 6TH GRADE 38, PIERCETON 18
Milford came through with a win, led by Brayden Miller’s 11 points. Bradyn Pike added nine points and Quentin Taylor was right behind with eight points.
TIPPECANOE VALLEY 6TH GRADE 29, SOUTH WHITLEY 16
ROCHESTER 40, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 29
Valley’s sixth grade opened its season with a split. In the win over South Whitley, Deondre Hamilton and Luke Tucker led the way with six points each. In the Rochester game, Dallas Miller led the team with eight points and Blane Sheetz followed with seven points.
