SOUTH BEND – A red-hot start pushed Lakeland Christian Academy to its fourth win on the season, a 48-15 girls basketball win at South Bend Community Baptist.
LCA charged out to an 11-0 lead after one quarter of play, then kept the noise going with a 14-6 run in the second quarter to command the contest at 25-6 at the half.
LCA committed 18 turnovers, but made 16 steals of its own to counter its play. The combo of Anna Reimink, Jessi Calizo and Tori Calizo again led the charge, combining for 12 steals to go with 36 points and 19 rebounds. Tori Calizo had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds and five steals, all team highs for the night.
Abigail Fishel had four points and two steals, Jordan Gross had three rebounds and Avery Hobbs had a pair of blocks in the game.
LCA moves to 4-3 on the season and will entertain Culver Friday night.
