Ella Whistler, Victim In Noblesville School Shooting, Performs At Colts Game
INDIANAPOLIS — Just six months after she was shot several times at Noblesville West Middle School, Ella Whistler showed how quickly she’s recovering by singing the national anthem and cheering during Sunday’s Indianapolis Colts game.
The now-eighth grader sang the national anthem and joined the Colts Cheerleaders as an honorary captain during the team’s game vs. the Miami Dolphins. She wore her Noblesville West Middle School cheerleading uniform with the Colts Cheerleaders.
Shortly after the performance, the Colts shared a video of it and tweeted about her recovery, saying: “Ella Whistler shows the world how strong she is by performing with @ColtsCheer as our honorary captain for #MIAvsIND just 6 months after she was shot 7 times in the Noblesville West Middle School shooting. #EllaStrong”
This summer, Ella and her parents were also honored during Colts training camp as guests of the team.
