Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
4:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, North CR 500E, south of EMS D15 Lane, Syracuse. Driver: Kenneth J. Graff, 35, East Van Buren Street, Leesburg. Graff was traveling south on CR 500E when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
1:20 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, South Packerton Road, north of East CR 1200S, Silver Lake. Driver: Anthony D. Rice, 35, La Vista Drive, Warsaw. Rice was traveling north on Packerton Road when his vehicle went off the roadway, striking a tree. Rice was transported by Parkview medics for rib and back pain. Damage up to $5,000.
5:11 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, West CR 100S, west of South CR 950W, Mentone. Driver: Cassandra S. Schnitz, 31, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Schnitz was traveling east on CR 100S when her vehicle went off the roadway, striking a power pole. Her vehicle then rolled over, coming to rest on its tires. Schnitz said she lost control of her vehicle on gravel and was unable to provide any further information. Schnitz and a passenger in her vehicle, Carolyn Schnitz, 14, Mentone, were both transported to the hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
9:37 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, West SR 25, north of CR 700W, Mentone. Driver: Cylie M. Marshall, 20, East Broadway Street, Burket. Marshall was traveling north on SR 25 when wildlife entered the roadway, causing Marshall to quickly brake her vehicle. Marshall’s vehicle slid off the roadway and crashed into a power pole. Damage up to $5,000.
9:35 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, West SR 25, north of CR 700W, Mentone. Driver: Charles D. Kuemin, 22, East 12th Street, Rochester. Kuemin was traveling north on SR 25 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
8:20 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, West CR 600S, near South East Channel Road, Sidney. Drivers: Annette J. Busz, 73, South East Channel Road, Warsaw; and Carrie A. Harrell, 35, South Maple Grove Lane, Warsaw. Busz was traveling south on South East Channel Road when she stopped at a stop sign and prepared to turn left. As she did so, she pulled into the path of Harrell’s vehicle, causing a collision. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, East Prairie Street, near South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jimmy D. Horne, 58, South Country Club Road 20, Warsaw; and Kimberly A. Morgan, 49, 7th Street, Winona Lake. Horne pulled out in front of Morgan’s vehicle. Morgan was traveling westbound on East Prairie Street. Damage up to $5,000.
2:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, East Center Street, near North High Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Shawna M. Plotner, 17, Rosemont Avenue, Warsaw; and Ashley B. Cooper, 38, Wedrick Drive, Warsaw. Plotner was traveling north on South High Street when she entered the westbound lane of travel on East Center Street, not noticing Cooper’s vehicle. This caused a collision. Damage up to $5,000.
