South Bend Native Ballerina’s Funeral To Be Held Wednesday
SOUTH BEND — The ballet dancer and South Bend native who was found dead in a Missouri lake died by accident, according to an obituary.
Autopsy results have yet to be released in 23-year-old Raffaella Stroik’s death. Stroik was a St. Joseph High School graduate who joined the St. Louis Ballet in 2017. According to the obituary, Stroik “was walking along the lake at Mark Twain State Park near Florida, MO where she went on a private retreat.”
Stroik was reported missing from the St. Louis area Nov. 12, and her car was found about two hours away at Mark Twain State Park that day. Stroik’s body was found at a lake there two days later.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kaniewski Funeral Home on North Bendix Drive in South Bend. Stroik will be laid to rest at 3:30 p.m. at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, on the University of Notre Dame Campus.
