Goshen Woman Arrested For Strangling Female At Frog Tavern
SYRACUSE — A Goshen woman was arrested after strangling a female at the Frog Tavern.
Yadira Cabrales, 21, 60354 Missouri Ave., Goshen, is being charged with strangulation and battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, both level 6 felonies.
On Oct. 28, an officer with the Syracuse Police Department responded to a report of a battery that occurred at the Frog Tavern.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer spoke with a female subject, who advised she was at the Frog Tavern with some friends when the incident occurred. While at the Tavern, she saw her ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend, identified as Cabrales. The female went outside with her friends, and when they came back inside, Cabrales grabbed the female’s arm and squeezed it very hard. The female jerked her arm away and went into the bathroom.
A short time later, Cabrales entered the bathroom and grabbed the female by the throat. The last thing the female remembered was walking out of the bathroom. The female asked her friends to take her home because she was extremely upset. The officer noticed the female had scratches and red marks on her neck. The female also complained of neck pain and stiffness.
The officer spoke with one of the female’s friends. The friend said she saw Cabrales grab the female by the throat, pushing her against the wall several times while choking her.
The officer obtained surveillance video from the Frog Tavern. The tape shows the female’s ex-boyfriend carrying Cabrales out of the bathroom and out of the bar on his shoulder.
Cabrales was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 19, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
