MENTONE — Emergency first responders reacted late Tuesday afternoon to a single-vehicle rollover crash on West CR 100S in westerns Kosciusko County that injured two women.
The black Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling eastbound on CR 100S near SR 19 when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to strike and sever a utility pole before leaving the roadway and rolling over several times in a harvested corn field. Dispatchers reported that both occupants of the vehicle complained of pain and EMS was called to the scene, but the nature of injuries were not known at the time of this post. Dispatchers initially confirmed a call for helicopter transport to the scene, but both victims were eventually transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The accident is still under investigation.
Aside from EMS, Firefighters from the Mentone Fire Department and officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department were also at the scene.
