Triton Youth Teams All Earn Wins
Triton’s seventh and eighth grade boys basketball teams earned a pair of wins over Argos Monday, while the sixth grade teams collected wins at Pierceton, and the fifth grade Trojans swept their games at Mentone.
Triton’s eighth grade topped its Argos counterparts 27-20. Chandler Westafer scored a team-high nine points, followed by Cole Irvine with six, and Evan Briles, Cameron Shively and Trenton Conley each put up four points in the win, which pushed the team to 3-2.
The seventh grade used a 17-0 second period to grab a 29-5 halftime lead and cruised to a 51-27 win over Argos in their contest. Anthony Schuh dropped 24 points, and Cole Shively also finished in double figures with 10, while Javan May scored six, and Hunter Schaetzle put up four for the seventh grade Trojans, who moved to 2-3.
The Triton seventh and eighth grade teams play Urey next Tuesday, Nov. 27.
Meanwhile Monday, Triton’s sixth grade collected a 46-6 win over Pierceton in the A game and a 22-0 win in the B game. Triton’s fifth grade edged Mentone 23-30 in the A game, and the Trojans B team won 14-0.
