Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
10:52 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, South CR 900E, south of Ryerson Road, Pierceton. Driver: Craig R. Crosson, 60, South CR 900W, Larwill. Crosson’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
8:43 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, East CR 1000N, west of SR 13, Syracuse. Driver: Chrystal D. Craft, 43, East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Craft’s vehicle left the north edge of the roadway, striking a utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.
9:21 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, Crystal Lake Road, east of South CR 400W, Warsaw. Driver: Jason E. Pearson, 27, Stone’s Crossing Road, Greenwood. Pearson advised his vehicle slid on the road and went into a field. Damage up to $10,000.
1:08 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, West CR 1300S, east of South CR 200W, Silver Lake. Driver: Collin J. Meggison, 19, East Main Street, Liberty Mills. Meggison stated he was unfamiliar with the road and failed to see the 90 degree curve. His vehicle went off the west side of the road, striking a tree. Damage up to $5,000.
12:00 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, North SR 15, south of West Monoquet Road, Warsaw. Driver: Michael J. McGrath, 44, North Prairie Street, Warsaw. McGrath was traveling north on SR 15 on a moped. A female passenger, Shelly R. McGrath, 42, North Prairie Street, Warsaw, stated that a vehicle struck the back of the moped, resulting in Michael McGrath and Shelly McGrath being knocked off the moped. Shelly McGrath stated the other vehicle left the scene. Shelly McGrath was transported by EMS to Kosciusko Community Hospital with a complaint of pain in her hand. Michael McGrath was transported by EMS to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne with minor bleeding from his ears. Michael McGrath was unresponsive so his injuries were unable to be determined at that time. Damage up to $5,000.
9:59 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, North SR 13, south of EMS B21 Lane, Pierceton. Drivers: Carl L. Coley, 62, North Street, Syracuse; and Jay B. Stahly, 38, Falcon Lane, Goshen. Coley was traveling south on SR 13. Stahly was traveling north on SR 13. According to Stahly, Coley’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck the driver ride mirror and driver side rear quarter panel of his vehicle. Coley continued on, stating he did not see the other vehicle stop. Pierceton police located Coley and advised he should return to the scene of the accident. An officer followed Coley back to the scene of the accident, advising that Coley’s vehicle crossed the center line three times on the way back to the scene. Coley told officers he has difficulty seeing when it’s dark and raining. Damage up to $5,000.
7:23 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, SR 15 and East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Kyla N. Kohler, 18, Lindenwood Avenue, Warsaw; and Ryan M. Parker, 41, West CR 600S, Claypool. Kohler advised she began to turn right onto East Winona Avenue when her steering wheel became stiff and she was unable to steer the vehicle. Kohler’s vehicle then struck Parker’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
5:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, South SR 25, south of West CR 250S, Warsaw. Driver: Travis A. LaFollette, 26, East Center Street, Warsaw. LaFollette stated he was traveling northbound on SR 25 when he lost control of his vehicle and slid across the southbound lane and off the roadway. The vehicle struck some underbrush and small trees. LaFollette stated he was uninjured and refused medical treatment at the scene. A passenger in LaFollette’s vehicle, Chelsea P. Wineland, 25, South Bruner Road, Warsaw, was checked by EMS personnel for complaint of pain to her back but refused transport to the hospital. Damage up to $5,000.
11:17 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, East Old Road 30, east of North SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Rebecca A. Stacy, 26, North CR 175E, Warsaw. Stacy’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
5:41 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, South Packerton Road and East CR 1200S, North Manchester. Driver: Linsey N. Warren, 31, Kech Street, North Manchester. Warren’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
7:57 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, East US 30, west of Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: Tamara J. Lupton, 47, Leazer CV, Huntertown. Lupton’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, CR 1000W, south of SR 25, Mentone. Driver: Troy F. Adams, 25, North CR 1075E, Akron. Adams’ vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
6:44 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, South Packerton Road and East CR 700S, Claypool. Driver: David M. Bumbaugh, 61, East CR 900S, Claypool. Bumbaugh’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
7:25 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, West CR 200S and South CR 400W, Warsaw. Driver: Melissa N. Hughes, 29, North Morgan Street, Mentone. Hughes stated a deer ran into the roadway, striking the passenger side of her vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
6:20 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, West SR 25 and South CR 700W, Warsaw. Driver: Robert J. Baker, 52, North Railroad Street, Kewanna. Baker’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
8:18 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, North SR 13, south of Brown Street, Syracuse. Driver: James J. Conway, ,77, East CR 600N, North Webster. Conway’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:27 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, West CR 250N, Warsaw. Drivers: Ting R. Zhen, 76, Hawthorn Drive, Warsaw; and Marilyn R. Shuck, 78, Lawndale Street, Highland. The vehicles collided as both were pulling out of parking spaces. Damage up to $5,000.
2:21 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, East Clark Street and North Bronson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Anne M. Speicher, 84, EMS T34D Lane, Leesburg; and Jeffrey R. Wanemacher, 51, 12B Road, Bourbon. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Damage up to $5,000.
2:02 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, Fort Wayne Street, west of North Lake Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dennis L. Bollenbacher, 74, EMS R4 Lane, Pierceton; and Sara L. Olds, 26, Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Bollenbacher stated he stopped at the stop sign and did not see Olds’ vehicle approaching so he started to proceed across Lake Street. Olds’ vehicle struck Bollenbacher’s vehicle. Olds was cited for failure to maintain financial responsibility. Damage up to $10,000.
9:07 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Jerry H. McCartney, 86, Cambridge Drive, Warsaw. WPD responded to report of an accident that occurred in the parking lot of Owens Supermarket. McCartney’s vehicle struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
