Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
12:21 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 1305 Mariners Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Marsha D. Huffman, 65, East CR 100S, Pierceton; and Gaeun Im, 28, Cresant Avenue, Fort Wayne. Huffman was backing out of a parking space when she backed into Im’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
7:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, SR 15, north of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Rebecca A. Taylor, 49, East Center Street 2, Warsaw; and Brittni J. Elrod, 21, North Nancy Drive, Warsaw. Taylor was attempting to turn south out of a parking lot when she collided with Elrod’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
10:34 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, South Zimmer Road, north of White Industrial Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Anthony Collins, 21, Disco E. 16 S., Silver Lake; and unknown. Collins said he was traveling northbound on Zimmer Road when he saw a vehicle travel left of center into his lane of travel. Collins swerved to avoid a collision with the vehicle, but the vehicle swerved back into the southbound lane, causing the unknown vehicle to strike Collins’ vehicle. Upon collision, the front driver’s side tire of Collins’ vehicle was broken from the control arm and left at the point of collision. Collins’ vehicle rolled onto its passenger side. The driver of the second vehicle ran eastbound from the accident scene. Collins complained of right shoulder pain and was checked out by EMS on scene, declining further medical treatment. Officers conducted a K9 track from the area where the unknown driver was last observed. The unknown driver was not located. Upon inspecting the scene, officers said that Collins’ vehicle was completely in the southbound lane while traveling northbound at the time of the collision. The unknown driver appeared to have swerved off the right side of the southbound lane to avoid a collision. Damage up to $25,000.
